I told mine I got optional extra alloys, so they know they are not standard but still VW wheels

I actually got checked out once, had been pulled loads of times and nothing said, finally declared and then two weeks later they checked it down in Kent.

If it didn't come out of the factory on them then it's classed as a modification.

Better chuck things on that not, what's the harm in being extra careful? A few quid more on a premium to avoid criminal offences, insurance declined and a whole world of hurt?

Although, the above article sure sounds like a bit of entrapment to me...
