Clamps for boost hoses
« on: 07 July 2013, 14:01 »
Does anybody have a list of the different sizes of jubilee or milakor clamps needed when fitting a 5 piece silicone boost hose set?

Thanks
Mike.

Thanks Nino, I know a lot of you guys run silicone hoses and it's something I've been toying with to do over the summer, so though if start thinking about everything I'd need.

I need some clamps for 3mm hoses too at the minute I've got several cable tied up seems to hold it though.

JCS Hi Grip are what I use over the Mikalor, you can over tighten the Mikalor and they can bend/damage the pipes
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

Thanks man, I shall look at those. I did think the milakor looked like they would over tighten quite easily tbf.

makilor, when you tighten them don't tighten in a full circle, cause of the bolt it more squeezes/bends so you get two points which are over tight and two points which are under tight and you may suffer small boost leaks from the undertightened parts.

google it. some people have gained a few psi from just changing from makilor to other types of clips because of all the small leaks...

Spray a load of hairspray into silicone joiner and onto your metal boost pipes.

Mine don't have beaded ends and using hairspray and Mikalors, I saw over 30psi
