« on: 25 August 2004, 12:55 »
Background:

Name: David Hawkins
Age: 25
Location: Brighton

Mk2 'Digi' GTI 8v .... has a tendancy to make 16v owners cry? ;D

Exterior / Engine
Lowered 40mm on SPAX damper adjustables
15' Multi spoke alloys on 195 50 15's
Chipped ECU with more aggressive fuel and timing maps
Modded air box and panel filter
MK4 rear brakes
Chrome GL Bumpers
Chrome handle inserts
Crystal side repeaters
Crystal Front Indicators
Angel eye front head lamps
Debadged single headlight front grill
Eyebrow spolier
16v rear clusters
Magnex 6x4 Oval

Interior / ICE
Nakamichi cd45z headunit
120gb Hard disk MP3 Player (M-Station)
DLS 7x10's
JL Audio 12w6 sub
Caliber CA 500 mono block
JL Audio 4300 4 channel amp
Phoenix Gold Ground Zero power cabling
Phoenix Gold Ground Zero speaker cabling
S4 Neo GPS Camera detector

She started off life as a stock 8v in pretty much original condition - monster truck suspension and bald 14 'sport' alloys, wonky standard exhaust and those lovley amber lights!

After a trip to Inters this year it all changed - Being a silver car I loved the whole idea of more silver and add some chrome, but retain the whole euro / old skool look with the small bumpers and phat rims

To come ....

Rims:-

I'm still really undecided on these so will have to keep u posted. I'm more than likely gonna go for something aftermarket and wide like Ad's Steffan Cups, or maybe old skool BBS edition ones, or I'm hoping to find something more 'original' than these that just sets the whole car off!

More than likely with the cost of wheels these days these will be left till last ...

Engine:-

This is next on the agenda as she's just not got the legs to see off the likes of Type R's - ST170's or 172 cups.

Again soooo many choices!!! It looks like a straight toss up between a g60 conversion or a 2.1 TSR 8v lump and continue to stick 2 fingers up at snobby 16v owners? ;D

Bodywork:-

More colour coding to come - more removal of trim and hopefully a few original 'trick' touches to finish her off.

Thanks to anyone who's taken the time to read this - I hope you love my Golf as much as I do, and those of you attending shows; those show and shine trophies will be mine soon !? ;D

Watch this space ....? ;)

Right not much of an update really, but after my trip to 'No Rice' last night I'm back to being obsessed with superchargers !!!

Wild stories and proof of speeds up 150 mph with that awesome noise sold it to me in seconds  ;D

Just need to sort the cash out for the transplant ....

Christmas update for you all - lets hope 2005 is a better year as things have kinda stalled on the dub front

As most of you know a simple clutch change from what I thought would be a duff oil seal turned out to be a new clutch and gearbox - still it's nice to know that there's a spanking new clutch and recon box strapped to her.

The last few months have been spend tidying bits up really - new Sunroof deflector and arms - new oil cooler - few new / replacement interior bits - tidy the boot install - just need to get these fecking 90's finished !!

As you all know after some TW*T in an E30 BMW decided to try and mate with the front of my baby she's gone to the scrappy in the sky

Hopefully she'll be replaced quite soon with something of the same quality - that is if the insurance company ever pulls their finger out !
