questions for MOT wee bit urgent
« on: 29 March 2011, 23:11 »
Ok on a wee bit of a schedule here and running out of time for my MOT deadline, which is friday.

I have deleted the side repeaters and suspect passenger side is broken which is causing the front one not to flash and rear one to flash quickly?

Changed the bulbs around and it's still the same.

Headlight on Drivers side won't work on dim dip. Works on full beam, swapped the fuses and bulbs but still the same (fuse 1/2)

Lastly, I know that headlights are H4 and H1 respectively but what size are the side repeater bulbs/ sidelight bulbs.

Cheers in advance

You don't own a Mk2, you support it.

Flasher unit? I'm probably being thick but what is that/ where is it situated?

It was working before

Ah, I see. Any idea what number it is? just in case I can't find the bit of paper with the info on it.

Bought new bulbs all round as a precaution as otherwise I know I'll end up there @ 11pm going "arghhhh, need bulbs".

Cheers bud, I've replaced all the 10A fuses with shiny new ones. Pretty impressive that the originals are still there after 20yrs

I thought side repeaters were a requirement if car is older than '85/86?

I thought side repeaters were a requirement if car is older than '85/86?

Having read the MOT regulations and interpretated them as "if they are fitted they have to work", as there isn't a space for them I'm hoping that it won't be necessary as this is the 1st MOT without them. Worst case I'll stick them on the side as the wiring is still there. I may yet change my mind and fit early spec Mk3 sides as I'm hoping to fit an ABF in it.

We'll see
