Classified Titles
« on: 19 June 2009, 09:14 »
Most probably been said a 1000 times

But it would be a whole lot easier if when people put up an add

to start there title with which ever model they got eg:

MK4 Rear Springs
Mk3 Exhaust

Would make life so much easier for people

Then if people did that perhaps the Mods could put a filter on

Now you can all tell me its been said before

Can't they now all just be grouped by model variant? How's about a seperate folder (in each category) for general, other, mk1,2,3,4,5,6 etc? Tbh I find the section frustrating to use I tend now not to look here for items I am after.

Let the fun begin........Red Gti, full colour coding, DSG, Xenons, Winter pack, Lux pack, Highline, Sat Nav, Sunroof, Leather, Milltek, ABT rear valance, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics....pescaras :-)

I see 2 problems:

Firstly, you will have so many categories as underneath each mk heading you would then still want all the sub categories. The forum layout doesn't very well suit that.
Secondly, there will be so much cross posting of things that could fit more than one mk.

I am still tempted to spin off the classifieds into a separate bit of specific web software. Downside would be the amount of work to set up and admin it (all the scam complaints etc!), plus having people add a second account on the classifieds.

I'll look into the options again though :)

i dont even look at the classifieds section now, I am only interested in mk5 bits and it takes forever to trawl through each section to find a relevant part. (sorry, love the site otherwise).

Ditto.

No disrespect at all to the earlier marks, but their 'parts' just don't interest me - and because the classifieds section is NOT grouped by marks, I just don't venture in there - which is a real shame, because like the rest of this site, the classified section could be a really great resource - when at the moment, it is a bit like marmite.
