This is a heads up for people who are planning to go hybrid or big turbo setups on there 1.8Ts.
We are curently testing a new turbo setup for another company on a 1997 Audi A3 AGU.
Basically is a full K04-023 (TT LCR S3 225bhp turbo) core and wheels squeezed into a k03 turbine housing. It seem they guy building the turbos has his the nail on the head and got it to flow perfect.
So far the live mapping session has managed to hit 274bhp 270lbft 22psi peak and 19psi held. This setup is running a forge actuator with yellow spring which is cracking open at the top end, so could do with a blue spring to gain another 10bhp.
The cars hardware setup is 2.5" FMIC and pipes, saab red injectors, 3"VR6 MAF, 80mm TIP, full turbo back exhaust, ported stock exhaust manifold.
I have the guys at Relentless to produce a k03 high flow manifoldm which should help take this setup to 290bhp+, and maybe on the limits of the turbine flow.
From what I have seen so far this turbo setup out performs the CR RS6 hybrid by far, its make the power with less effort and flow much better across the whole rpm range.
I will try and get some graphs up when I have finished..
