Rcd310 upgrade to rns315
« on: 16 August 2014, 17:34 »
Hi I am new to the forum and have just got a 2011 gti which doesn't have Bluetooth or nav only arcd310 with a mdi cable. I have got my hands on a Rns315 with built in Bluetooth and nav has anyone done this before? I haven't fitted it yet so am wondering if there would be any issues doing it

no issues. very much plug n play. you will need to wire in a bluetooth mic up to the roof light

It will also need coding with VCDS to get the nav and bluetooth to display on the MFD.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Today I installed the Rns315 and a mic, no coding done yet but everything works apart from the Bluetooth which apparently won't appear till the VCDS coding is done, Bluetooth and nav not on MFD but that's no problem, surprisingly easy to do, so just hope that when the coding eventually gets done hopefully it will all be good, anyone got VCDS in Elgin Area?

Thanks for the feedback after I installed it I got VCDS and tried coding it for Bluetooth to work and although it said code accepted when I went back in to confirm it had changed it was still the same code that it was before, anybody got any coding advice for getting the Bluetooth active I have tried the remko link but this isn't working?

depends if there is bluetooth built into the unit or not. some do and some don't.

take the unit out and look on the right hand side where it shows the serial number. there will be a mac address, if it is 00:00:00:00:00 then no bluetooth built in.

nope, £250 is a brilliant price. check on the condition and version of maps. You can guarantee mine to have latest maps and in 100% condition. £350 would be my lowest price. the unit goes for around £430 on ebay
