Replacement DSG Paddle shifters?
« on: 12 March 2019, 13:50 »
Looking to replace my DSG paddles with some that are easier to use when pushing on. I'm not looking for stick-ons, but full replacements that are put in with the pin. I really like the look of the S2T rounded paddles...

... but are there any others out there I should consider? What have you got?

These are worth considering - https://www.racingline.com/vwr49g700

You can get these, unbranded, cheaper though! I keep thinking about some...

The S2T look fantastic and get rave reviews but I decided to go for the unbranded (well mine say Carparts) Racingline ones Jim has mentioned below. They took a bit of time to arrive as they came from China but they were about £60 (and it looks like they're even less than £30 now!).

You can see them on my car here...

I got some of those Jogon shifters for my Polo GTI+ the other week.

The build quality is superb, why anyone would want to pay £192 for the alternative is beyond me. Mine cost £42 and were delivered in 8 days from China.

I went for the unpainted aluminium- mildly wish I went for flat black. In practice, they're no easier to use than the stock one - all paddles are awkward to use at half steering lock.

I’ve been looking myself today, there’s some utter rubbish out there but some really nice ones albeit pricey. I’m sure there are some on the parts for sale section for about £30 if still available.

S2Ts are pricy but so well designed and engineered, they fit and feel just perfectly part of the car.  A joy to use.  I went for the B3 design.  After a pedal box, the best addition to the car.  Never once have I regretted parting with the money.

Thanks all - looking for something OEM looking, which is why the S2T's appealed. I think I might go for those unless something else crops up in the next few days of random surfing.

@NewbieGTIP - I agree, there's some absolute dross out there, it seems to be slim pickings.

@Rebecca - great post, thanks, I thought it would be harder to do than that, great news!
