Well don’t really want to part with my mk5 Gti  but having a recurring error code which my local garage
is having problems solving (not keen on throwing money at a 10-year-old car)

The car wasn’t running the best over the Christmas period, bit rough at idle (would start first time, but the revs
seemed to be a bit restless up & down) and when driving, it was if I had no modifications done to the car
(power way down) it almost felt with it being a DSG it didn’t know which gear to be in under hard acceleration.

Anyway got it checked out and the two error codes where DTC 008568 1/2 Bank 1: System Too Rich off idle, DTC 001089
2/2 evap Emission Control Sys.

Replaced the EVAP canister & solenoid valve, replaced cam cover breather, replaced recirculation valve
(all my modifications were done back in 2010 so nothings new, mileage approx 89000)

Collected the car from the garage felt better but just not right, a few days later engine management light on and
DTC 008568 Bank 1: System Too Rich off idle came back to haunt me

Any help would be appreciated?

Car details:
57 plate Gti, 3 door DSG,TBE, Remap, FMIC, Induction Kit

Lambda sensor??

What are the emissions like??  Have the garage tested those?

If they have tested the emissions I haven’t been privileged to the information... but no harm in asking

It interests me that you say you have an induction kit. Could you have oil on the MAF causing the issue? Worth cleaning the MAF perhaps.

Lambda sensor checked and ok, also it seems the car is fine at idle
and the problem is occurring under load.

Looking like a trip to a rolling road for live data may be required
