Hi i have a 2009 GTi.

It has an RCD510 and an MDi with x2 cables. 1x iphone 4s cable and a usb cable.

I tried connecting my iphone 6s cable into the usb cable attached to the MDI but it didn't seem to do anything.

I've only had the car since sunday so apologies if I'm doing something very newbish - still finding my way around :)

Any suggestions - should the MDI cable be compatible with an apple iphone 6s through a usb cable?

Yeah I just use the apple adapted cable too. Didn't fancy paying 65 quid for a cable and going by other forums it's a bit hit or miss apparently.
