As the subject really.

Have read a bunch of threads on slackening off the aux belt tensioner to remove the belt, change the pulley and appear to be done inside of 30 minutes.

My problem is that none of these are how-tos on a 130pd golf, they are all passats or boras or other engines.

I have the problem that my tensioner looks like:

So there is no bolt or nut to grip onto in order to lever the tensioner back into its "locked" state.

I can't be the first person to have an issue with this, anyone have any ideas?

Okay I'm an idiot. Turns out unlike any other tensioner ive seen in various how-to threads, you have to use a spanner as a lever on the top square block of metal that protrudes up where the locking pin fits.
