cars a 2001 golf mk4 tdi 110, Ve (non pd) engine, remapped, pd130 turbo, bigger injectors nozzles, egr delete, decat and big downpipe and big intercooler.
hi all i noticed today that my tdi is putting out a bit of smoke, well it smokes anyway but this is different. the usual smoke is black and not floaty, it just kind of sits there as a cloud.
this 'new' smoke is a kind of grey colour and only seems to put it out between about 1900rpm and 2500rpm. It wont do it if i just rev it, only when its actually boosting, any idea of what it could be?
ive done a little reading up and its basically come down to 4 suspiscions
1- MAF sensor
2- piston rings - but surely itd smoke constany?
3- turbo - again its constantly smoke?
4 - headgasket - but dont get any other symptoms of a blown hg
