I know this has been covered before, and I've trauled through the threads, pretty much as confused as when I started......OIL!!!
Just phoned VW to see which oil I should be on- they said for my 150pd on a longlife interval, it HAS to be Fully synthetic, 5w30- and he said to use either shell helix ultra, castrol slx, or mobil EZ (i think).
On the label of the shell which he had in his hand, it said 504/ 507. I was told by a local specialist that the longlife oil for the PD is 505.01- when I told this to the VW guy, he said thats for older engines, which mine is not.- and the rating for 505.01 is 15w40 or 10w40- so not the 5w30 at all!!
I know VW changed oils (think from longlife 2, to longlife 3) a while back, but i really am lost. Any help or guidance???
