Title: CONFUSED!! 1.8t AGU
Post by: sharki786 on 14 July 2013, 00:21
Right as some peeps may know that i was after a 1.8t AGU full car. After a few weeks i found one and got a mate who is registered to that website to bid on it. Bidding started at 11 told my mate max i have is 500 atm. Won it for 440 and with fees it cost me 515. I wanted to strip it and keep the engine and what not for my mk3 anni. The car has recaro heated leathers climate control and sunroof
Well car arrived and im HAPPY
F all damage apart from the fool who repaired it without trying to push the dent out and decided to fill the fecker with more filler thats in my mates body shop lol. A good 5-9mm of filler was put in the car. Spray was good but was a shade off. Its a silver but with a blue tinge to it. Threw in £7 Vpowaaaaah as it was VERY low on pety. And im having a problem when i rev it to 3k rpm it hunts and will only settle when i tap the gas pedal. Its will hunt under its idle. Drivers seat heats up but passangers wont. Engine is VERY sweeeeeet nice and quiet only hear the injectors and the charcoal filter.

Anyway pics:

My bredwin filling her up with v juice

The recaros:

Ma cazan checking out the damage (just needs a screw to hold the bumper back into place but might just buy a used bumper from classifieds):

(http://i323.photobucket.com/albums/nn458/shako786/20130711_210753_zpsf42459a5.jpg) (http://s323.photobucket.com/user/shako786/media/20130711_210753_zpsf42459a5.jpg.html)

Righty then i decided to give it a good look over. Checked the oil and its BLACK (got some quantum 10-40 at home that i got from tps for cheaps. Anyway took coil packs out and tried to take the sparkies out but coldnt as i was using an ordinary socket (i know wrong tool, its what i had on hand) when i took the socket out it was covered in oil  anyway my cazan got a proper spark tool out and i took the sparkies out. Looked like they were proper old, covered in soot and they are the ngk R sparkies with single electrode not double or triple. So took everything apart. Took the rocker off, cams, chain & tentioner all look good. Might service it tomoz if i have time.
Turbo is WAAAAY down. How do you guys change it?

Will be painting the rocker cover and what not.
Sorry not picies as hands were covered in oil and grease.
Oh btw im keeping the car and putting in back on the road
Its too good to break.
Sorry if i gave hopes to people.
The mk3 anni will be going into storage and will be maintaned. The body on the anni isnt in very good condition so will sort all that out.

Anyway i am after some performance parts.
Its all standard.
Will be throwing in hybrid blades and aiming for under 300 horses as dont want rods flying about then will upgrade the rods.
Im after:
3" straight through, will this work good with the k03 till i upgrade? got a 2.5" on way
S2000 cone filter with heat shield got, just need heat shield
K03s hybrid turbo
Fmic
007 diverter got it
Forge tip fitted
N75 delete?
Charcoal canister delete?
Leather arm rest
Anything else that im missing?

Please pm me with any parts that you have that i have mentioned.

More pics to come and empty pockets lols

Went to a local powder coater and spoke to him about the inlet and rocker. As inlet has plastic in the mani for the injectors he advised me to get it anodised. And he will powder coat the rocker but will need to see him tomz.
On the other side went to creations motorsport and got the inlet lower silicone breather and some 3mm silicone for the fuel reg oh yeah

Took the rocker cover and manifold bolts and nuts to work and had them plated.

Before:
(http://i323.photobucket.com/albums/nn458/shako786/20130805_114242_HDR_zps50bc4038.jpg) (http://s323.photobucket.com/user/shako786/media/20130805_114242_HDR_zps50bc4038.jpg.html)

After:
(http://i323.photobucket.com/albums/nn458/shako786/20130802_121000_zpse69cd3f1.jpg) (http://s323.photobucket.com/user/shako786/media/20130802_121000_zpse69cd3f1.jpg.html)

Got my rocker cover and manifold back, guy did a very good job on it but he couldnt get into the tiny gaps so he gave me the money back. Going to take it to sweeney sherlock powder coaters to get it shot blasted but they closed so just going tonwait till next week now. On the other hand bagged a miltek 2.5" cat back system from 150+ just waiting for him to confirm delivery tomorrow (hopefully)
Now i have a lil dilemma, what colour should i get the rocker and mani done? I got throttle of so thinking black, red or yellow? The guy that i went to does some cool powder coating colours (black pearl base with a nice silver sparkle but you can see the silver chunks in there he also does it in yellow (i think) and red.

So got loads of parts laid around and no time in fitting them. Anyway decided to shift my @$$ and get moving. Started by fitting the bora flush vents. As i fitted them before to my mates gttdi it was easier. Instead of making a loom i extended the wires for the illumination and spliced them into the blue/white and brown wire (same colour as the vents)

(http://i323.photobucket.com/albums/nn458/shako786/20130913_183149_zpscbcd518e.jpg) (http://s323.photobucket.com/user/shako786/media/20130913_183149_zpscbcd518e.jpg.html)

Drivers done

(http://i323.photobucket.com/albums/nn458/shako786/20130913_184103_zps23f442a2.jpg) (http://s323.photobucket.com/user/shako786/media/20130913_184103_zps23f442a2.jpg.html)

Next was the centre i dont have a pic of it fitted as its not pushed in and another reason is because i have climatronic i cant seem to find a gap anywere to feed the wire in for the passengers vent so i have left it out.

Also i  stripped most well all of the bottom part of the dash as i am fitting in a double din

(http://i323.photobucket.com/albums/nn458/shako786/20130918_180303_zps0a6d59be.jpg) (http://s323.photobucket.com/user/shako786/media/20130918_180303_zps0a6d59be.jpg.html)

As you can see i aint bothered fitting it back as im waiting for my mic to arrive for the double din. And also i tried to fit the r32 brush steel inserts around the cage but as i have never taken them off i ended up damaging the tiny clips that hold them into place so whats happening jow is that they are bent so as i have realy good friends, one of them gave me the cage.

Well got some netpotic handles. As i have the r32 brush steel centre bits i decided to rub 1 down and see how it looks as the previous owner has done the drivers and 1 other handle.

Half way done

Looking good!  Done a good job cleaning those parts up!

Dont be putting that MAF on without injectors and the turbo to go with it, or itll underfuel.

Stick it on when getting custom mapped.

As some know i had brush steel centre consle bits just needed to fit the ashtray in so i took the front console out and i ended up doing this

(http://i323.photobucket.com/albums/nn458/shako786/Mobile%20Uploads/20140210_133113_zpspsi9oqer.jpg) (http://s323.photobucket.com/user/shako786/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20140210_133113_zpspsi9oqer.jpg.html)

looked hard to do but as the misses hair dryer got the wrap soft it just melted into the curves (very naaace)

so was out in the cold yesterday for 3 hrs tried to change the tip with some silicone hoses but got down to the nut and was getting dark so i thought i will leave it. so thought i will fit the boost gauge so got inside the car and i needed a coat hanger to feed the hose into the car so i dropped that. thought i will fit the leather arm rest, looked down and im missing the bloody shoulder bolt, so shut my garage and came home. I fnished work today and straight to the garage and got on with it. I decided to sort the turbo inlet pipe, got to the allen key bolt and was very hard, eventually i got the bolt off without jacking the car up. i had to give the oem tip a good rocking as it wouldnt come off, it then poped off. tried fitting the forge tip but it kept getting stuck so pulled the water pipe that goes to the heater matrix fiddling for ages and then i heard pop it was on

Few updates but needs pics. Fitted arm rest, fitted boost gauge. New massive fmic on its way from bbt, but i need some 2.5" piping all the way so speaking to someone who sells ash hoses on egay. Also got a supersize r-tech tip to go on. Only down fall is that its black and not blue but minor, got some hi grip hose clamps on their way aswel for it as the other clips i have are bogus and i know i will need to replace them so why not now. The forge tip will be going on for sale as soon as i fit the ss tip in. Its in mint condition as its just been fitted and car has only been started every so often. The car needs a good damn clean inside and out. But as the car aint insured or anything i dont want to risk parking it on the road.

pics to follow

sh!ty update.
Sliced me hand
Decided to tackle the hand brake lines as os was sticking. Got that side done then decided with the ns, oh great. Mofo was stuck, kids running around wild. So had to keep an eye on them at same time. I lost patience and yanked the c*nt and the metal guide pipe flew out. So after fighting with it to get the broken plastic bit out gave in and put the car back together. Will order a new guide pipe toms when im back at work.

So hand brake is all sweet, 2clicks and the rock solid. Now need to do a brake fluid change. Being the beautiful weather on the weekend, i was cleaning the car so snowfoam etc and it starts to snow. Lols nice. After my finger tips falling off i finish up cleaning the car. So come this weekend i will try to do the brake fluid change. Nothing new...

So brake fluid has been changed without a hitch. Also deceided to fit the hybrid stage 2 turbo on. All went well till last stud on head for manifold decided to snap. Then as the car was jacked up funny it wouldnt start. After head scratching a friend of mine told me that its fuel related. So after cranking it the battery died. Had to leave it as is as i had to get to work. So a full week went by and then weekend came with a fully charged battery. Cranked it and still same. Checked fuel and it was good. So i realised i didnt have enough fuel pressure so gave it longer cranks and it coughed into life. So have done 300+ miles on it running without the n75. Drove to bradistan and back and drove nice. So i need to fit the fmic and get it mapped.

Qaz brooooo. the pics are working fine for me.
Need to do cam belt & WP then fit the vr6 sachs clutch thats waiting then i can fit the fmic and then fit the saab red top injectors.

Did a small update. Alarm keep locking the doors when i open the boot (basicly its not recognising the boot open) got a repair plug and wires from work and built it up. Now the boot compartment light works but the alarm dont chirp. Iv seen another 2 pin plug and that has suppose to have a micro swich connected to it like below

(http://i323.photobucket.com/albums/nn458/shako786/s-l1600_zpsjqmxgzp8.jpg) (http://s323.photobucket.com/user/shako786/media/s-l1600_zpsjqmxgzp8.jpg.html)

This is were the 2 pin plug is:

(http://i323.photobucket.com/albums/nn458/shako786/IMG_20180619_215515_zpsk1fs4kaq.jpg) (http://s323.photobucket.com/user/shako786/media/IMG_20180619_215515_zpsk1fs4kaq.jpg.html)

But were is the microswitch mounted?
The boot lock is new and the wires are insulated for temp till i solder them.
Now if i diconnect the 3 pin plug from the boot lock the alarn will chirp when i press the close button. But if i connect it i get no chirp only when i unlock it.
