New Summer Wheels for my beloved MKII
« on: 19 April 2004, 12:54 »
I'm starting to look at what new summer wheels I should get for my baby, and I'm undecided as yet .... I'm @ inters this year, so hopefully I'll seem some nice examples to help me choose !

I'm not 100% on the whole 4 to 5 stud thing, so other than the adapters what else needs to be considered if I went for the 90's? Things like offset - center hub size etc all must all be different? ? ?  ???

Also, I'm not on a budget, but funds are reasonable limited - more of a 'project wheel' if you will. If you're lucky u can get either the BBS or the 90's with resonable tyres for ickle over ?100 !!

What's your thoughts ???

BBS - they and Mk2s were made for one another  :)

Saw a smashing set at Newark yesterday (though I'm not sure about the tyres - are they stretched or is it just the light and the way my camera has picked them up?)

Hmmmm... not sure I like the stretched look.  Presumably to get them to fit under the arches?

Are they safe like that?  Or legal?  Do they make an difference to the handling?

(No offence to the owner, that's just MHO.)  Still rate the wheels very highly, though.  :)

not necessarliy to get under the arches, usually just because it looks good  ;D

safe and legal, very low profile so expect a harsher ride but hey it looks good  :P

I shall reserve my judgement until I can afford a set of rims like those, then I'll let you know  ;)  ;D
