Yeh the scooby will cost more to fuel and tax.

Have you seen how many owners some of these Scoobies have had...

If you think your Golf is costing too much to keep on the road, a Scooby is really not a car you should be lookin at tbh.

my point is even brand new cars go wrong and as for running cost they are not much different from a turbo golf but the golf will break more often  :wink:

Sorry Barry, I wasn't saying it was a bad car at all. The tax won't be an issue on a pre 2001 car either.

All manufacturers will have their share of problems.

I owned one last year, Wasn't as bad on fuel as I thought, Timing belt cost less to have done than my old MK4 GTi did

and i bet it was more fun than most mk4s  :wink: still miss my old wagon

Definitely, My spending on it wasn't due to anything going wrong but more of a personal preference.

the joys of having a mate that does powdercoating so was just time and a few beers  :smiley: makes me want another 1
