Title: GTI on a 6k Budget
Post by: pottersabout on 10 September 2017, 13:31
Hi, I am looking to buy a GTI as a daily driver as i need some practicality and some fun :)

Seeking advise on what to look out for in terms of mechanicals, mileage, spec etc. Also is it better to stretch the budget to a MK6 in terms of performance, road noise, safety?

Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks

There is plenty of mk5s about just check for rust and if it's got more than 80k on the clock check for evidence of the timing belt and cam chain being done

You won't have to struggle to get a bog standard one for 6k, at the moment the lowest millage for 6k is 90k+

Plenty cheaper than that with less miles so not sure where you came up with that info
