Hi guys
Seen a dark grey mk6 gti for sale at my local VW dealer.
Since I am not that knowledgable on the model I wanted your guys advice on how much you would pay for this gti.
2009 59
60,000 miles
Dsg
Leather heated
Satnav
18 inch alloys
Fsh
Comes with 12 month VW used car warranty but I am hoping to get a longer warranty as I have read lots about Cambelt issue. I am going to investigate that separately with dealer but would appreciate your advice on price please.
Thanks in advance for your help :)

I'm thinking around £11 - 12k but I suspect you'll pay a premium for the fact its a VW dealer selling it.

What is the sticker price at the VW dealer? remember the average car salesman has a heart of stone! not gold! I know from experience that they were offering £13250 for my imaculate 2012 GTD FSH and they had one on the forecourt 6 month younger with 10k less miles and lesser spec at £18250. That's 5k for a wash and polish!

Thanks guys
It was up for approx £12k.
Since it's a 59 plate model it will have the first version of the Cambelt tensioner and so I want to try to get that changed to latest version if I do decide to buy it.

I wouldn't pay more than £10k.
-
I paid 15k for my 2010 GTi from a vw dealer with 28000 miles on it...
-
I wouldn't pay more than £10k.
I'd say even £10k was pushing it. It's getting on for 6 years old, but then there is a big difference between retail price and what it's actually worth.
-
Perhaps £11-12k is a little more accurate!
-
Funny how people are saying £10k when you cannot buy a Mk6 gti that cheap anywhere in the country. For a car with that mileage privately it would be £12k.
-
There's one on Autotrader now for £10,000 private with a pretty good spec, similar milage and it's had the engine go POP, so it's only at 32,000 on the new...
However I do agree they are few and far between, if I was selling mine which is similar in spec and milage I'd be looking for around 12,000 private

Thanks for replies and your views guys. I got to say it's very difficult to find a gti at all!!
Some have low mileage and decent spec but are about £16k!
I think these cars just hold value well as even if it's only worth £10k given you see them for sale at £12-14k there must be people willing to pay that and so that is the going rate :/
