Did they change at a certain year? always had it in my head that they were 400 a year tax, one of the big reasons I opted for a 1.8t. Oh well!

Also tilt seats  make it easier to sort kids seats out  I'm 30 but there is still no excuse for a 5 door family car when there is a 3 door alternative.

All mk4 r32s fall into that tax bracket, some of the very early mk5s do as well. It changed in early 2006.

After playing with my mate's 3.2tt the r32 is pretty comparible to a mapped 1.8t, it's quicker off the line but slower between about 30-80 and gains again top end.

The r32 is a much better all rounder though, handling is in a different league to a 1.8t and the exhaust note

Yeh your right dom it is but not worth it after sinking so much into a 1.8t I would put the extra money in to the 1.8t as you can make it handle the same if not better! Only thing u miss out on is the note which is why I kept the v6 as my run around

Niño don't do it bro! You know your car it's a safe bet, after all that money time and effort it's not worth it... If you had a sudden new amount of dispensable income than do it but don't get a loan or finance, and if you are going to then get one that is completely standard, completely... As your buying on borrowed money and there will be less chance it's been thrashed or played with.

Just my advice brother but be lucky

I saw balls to it, you only live one. I really don't see the issue with a car loan/finance as long as you do you research and can afford the repayments.

I'm probably changing my car in the Autumn this year and will most likely get a loan for it, I'll put my car back to standard and sell it and most of the mods, then put any money made towards repaying the loan.

Look at it another way that is a lot of money for a 10yr old car, I would stick with the 1.8t given the choice.
