Mk2 Golf GTI 16v Heater Matrix Replacement near St Albans

Hi peeps...

No matter how much I love my Golf, driving around without a working heater matrix is really starting to wind me up... -4 and two coats is not big or clever

Can anyone recommend a mechanic that could possibly look at this for me in the St Albans area? I hear good things about a mechanic called Howard Taffs in Colney Heath, but I can't find his contact details on any other forum....

If anyone has some advice on where I can take it, I'd appreciate it. Better still if they were good with electrics too, as I have a dodgy passenger window and no reverse lights at the mo!!

BTW have replaced the thermostat - still colder than a witches tit in there

Replace the bypass valves with 22mm copper pipe, can be done in 10-15 minutes

could just do it yourself, its fairly easy, just time consuming. 2-5 hours and its done.

I did mine myself it wasnt too bad, just takes ages.

Did mine this time last year over a couple of nights after work, out side, in the dark, and the snow. If it helps I found the Haynes manual to be quite useless.
