im a new MK4 owner and want to put some 17's on, what the correct tyre size i need to keep the rolling size the same

thanks for that fella, it doesnt show tyre sizes tho..??.....i dont really understand the rest  :grin: it currently has 205/55/16 and i want to put the 17's from my MK3 on but think i'll need to change the tyres

You could also get away with 225/45 17's if the wheels are 7.5J x 17.  ;)

If they're 7J x 17, I would personally run 215/45's.

they have 205/40/17 tyres on at the mo but im guessing these'll throw the speedo and handling out, will the recommended tyre sizes you suggest fit these rims..?

**EDIT**  If the wheels are 7J use 215/45, or if they're 7.5J use 225/45.  :afro:

Yes 215/45/17's will be fine.
