As per the thread - it got new tyres - Michelin Pilot Sports or some such.

They are f*cking great.

At the moment the front has a bit too much camber on it, so I need to push it back out to about -1 instead of the -2+ it is running at the moment.  I'll do that when I fit the TT bushed, stitch-welded control arms I sorted a while ago.

I also have replacement rear bear bushes to fit soon, which will improve the handling a bit, I think.

Dave kindly secured a Golf4 shift tower and shifter, which I need to get fitted, but it needs a set of control cables.  I also need to replace the thrust bearing on the clutch, too.

For some reason the brake pads could do with being replaced.  This is probably more than anything else to do with them coming off a scrap Cordoba SX which donated the motor, too.

It could do with a replacement blower switch - it only works on 4 despite some fettling.

It had a replacement temp sender for the ECU, which improved the fuel consumption a bit, but it's still not amazing.

What IS amazing is how much I love driving it and thrashing the living daylights out of it (which may be contributing to the above 'issue').  It is particularly good now the weather's picked up and when I have the opportunity to drop the windows, open the roof and crack the throttle.  This seems to be most journeys at the moment.

I am unlikely to stop enjoying the fine piece of automotive theatre that is the spoiler.  If the tail don't come up on a journey, you need to try harder.

You didn't give it enough bush.  It clearly needs more bush.

Stitch-welded control arms are on, with TT bushes.  Nice tight front end.  Just need the rear beam bushes replaced now.

I have a later shift tower, cables and shifter to put on it, but I want to re-bush that before it's fitted.

Because f*ck yeah!

Defect in one of the Michelins - there's a bulge on it, so free replacement on Monday.

New discs and pads on the front tomorrow - about time, too!

Slacker.

Stops SO much better now.  Delighted with that.  Still need to do the rear beam bushes and then that's it, once Wez has helped us out....
