Title: 52 1.8t AUM, hesitation, weird stutter after starting
Post by: Manford on 05 October 2017, 20:31

So I fixed the second air pump at the weekend and now when the car starts after couple of secs it kinda judders and then is fine

I’m also finding a hesitation/miss between 1500-2000 rpm. When under load at low rpm I get like a chirpy noise, I’m assuming I’ve got a leak somewhere?

I have no engine lights, no error codes via vcds.

Update - Cleaned throttle body and maf.....seems much better now.

Still get weird noise / chirp when under load at low rpm.......

Would say it's an air leak somewhere mate, check all the pipes from the carbon canister right through to the ones going to the actuator

I can hear the carbon canister clicking away...I thought it was going to be a leak somewhere was hoping for a quick way to find it, but do you think it's more likely on the bigger plastic stuff than the little vac lines?

Unfortunately it could be anywhere, some splits won't show up until you move the pipes about
