Plans for now are to do a few bits of tidying up and raise it up on some new wheels then run it daily until the G60 lump is ready as it sits like this at the mo

So my main focus will be rebuilding the engine and get it ready to drop in

Sweet motor.
We had a maroon Mk1 Jetta when I was growing up and my friends had one in that blue colour too.

G60 transplant will be great.

Good work, carry on

Sweet seems to be the popular response here.

Very nice, looks super tidy for it's age too. Love it.

Wayne, is that a genuine hint for the plate then?

Time for a bit of a update:

First I would like to thank James, Kev and even Rob for your help :)

Since the custom work on the G60 engine is taking longer than I had hoped, James kindly did me a great deal on a 1.9TD AAZ engine so we fitted that

I've put some oe lights back up front and orange indicators - also fitted a relay to the front light so they are no longer candles. As they where only hitting 9.3v at idle.

Started fitting some corrado front seats that will get retrimmed back to blue to match the rest

And some new shoes :)

Here's some pics

Bit of a update:

Then started fitting a westy front

Then decided that it could do with a full paint so started the strip down

(http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm271/ianmorgan50/365FDFC0-86BD-4CE1-87E5-84A5DE06F34E_zps7frrsajt.jpg) (http://"http://s298.photobucket.com/user/ianmorgan50/media/365FDFC0-86BD-4CE1-87E5-84A5DE06F34E_zps7frrsajt.jpg.html")

Bit of a update after a few delays with the body shop it gave me chance to do a few extra bits

Chop out the rear towing eye:

(http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm271/ianmorgan50/4EC93B6B-BA66-4EFC-8F15-65DD0FE13DEF_zpssebcdwhk.jpg) (http://s298.photobucket.com/user/ianmorgan50/media/4EC93B6B-BA66-4EFC-8F15-65DD0FE13DEF_zpssebcdwhk.jpg.html)

Then had to take out the cut out on the exhaust side to match up:

(http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm271/ianmorgan50/A7C0F956-497E-43B4-A6AB-177D68D3D9A7_zpstirf3fhv.jpg) (http://s298.photobucket.com/user/ianmorgan50/media/A7C0F956-497E-43B4-A6AB-177D68D3D9A7_zpstirf3fhv.jpg.html)

Chop out the lhd wiper inserts:

(http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm271/ianmorgan50/A7C0F956-497E-43B4-A6AB-177D68D3D9A7_zpstirf3fhv.jpg) (http://s298.photobucket.com/user/ianmorgan50/media/A7C0F956-497E-43B4-A6AB-177D68D3D9A7_zpstirf3fhv.jpg.html)

(http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm271/ianmorgan50/8ED63902-5675-4BA7-A513-7FCF8A6391D5_zpsrez7gvcu.jpg) (http://s298.photobucket.com/user/ianmorgan50/media/8ED63902-5675-4BA7-A513-7FCF8A6391D5_zpsrez7gvcu.jpg.html)

And rear the rear arch:

(http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm271/ianmorgan50/DF041841-4C60-4540-8920-3705E26CCF67_zpsgpncwirl.jpg) (http://s298.photobucket.com/user/ianmorgan50/media/DF041841-4C60-4540-8920-3705E26CCF67_zpsgpncwirl.jpg.html)

There's still a bit to tidy up and a small skim then it's all ready for paint

Massive thanks to James for all he's help couldn't of done it without him :)
