Saw tooth rear tyres
« on: 01 October 2016, 20:54 »
When I had my front tyres changed, the tyre guy said my rears were saw toothed and wearing unevenly. How should my rears be adjusted to stop this? Cheers

You need a 4 wheel alignment check Snooze.

You used to get saw toothing rears from worn suspension but also happens from incorrect tyre pressures too.

I have had this on my Focus TDCi, MK5 GT Sport TDi, Leon FR....I have read so much about what 'it could' be and all cars had 4 wheel alignments and I am religious about checking tyre pressures.

Personally I think its a FWD trait on cars with stiff suspension and wide tyres.

I'm gonna go with the 4 wheel alignment. Much as I'd like to ditch my last 2 bridgestones I just can't afford new tyres atm.

I had this on my mk5 GT Sport Tdi, and it was the rear control arms that needed replacing, apparently a common issue on a mk5

Am I right in thinking you run spacers?  If you do, take them off.
