need help

right im looking for a new head unit to replace the gamma one in my mk4gti
i would like a bit more sound ( noise) and a better bass. would i still be able to use the cd changer in the boot?
will i have to replace all the speakers or will that still be ok?
if anyone knows of a good head unit and if it would work the changer

i think you may be able to get a converer to use the changer but i am unsure and cant imagine they would be too cheap.

JVC make good budget HU's. If you get an mp3 disc player HU and you wont need a changer as mp3 discs hold 6 discs on 1, thats what i use, its up to you though.

The standard speakers should be fine but upgrading to slightly uprated ones may be preferable depending on the rating of the standard spks, VW audio is generally pretty good though.

Are you thinking of adding a sub for extra bass or were you looking to stick to normal speakers?

i went out and got a alpine hu with a ipod conection done away with the changer and spent all week putting cds on to ipod  :laugh:
its got preouts and a seperate control for a sub so i can add stuff as i go

thats the way to do it! glad you saw the light! do away with changers, they really are becoming obselete very quickly, you can have hard drives in your car now for gods sake!
