Quick detail
« on: 13 September 2008, 21:05 »
I know "quick detail" is a bit of an oxymoron but need a little advice.

Bought car just over a month now. Been working long shifts and weekends to the point where I barely have time to do anything other than eat and sleep. Since I've bought the car, I've been meaning to give it a good, thorough detail (pending a few tools/equipment). It was AG'd at the dealer and that's it.

How do I attempt a quick (~30-60mins) detail on the car?
Is it worth it if in, say, a month's time I'll be free to detail it properly?
Should I not bother and just wait until I have the free time to detail it properly?

To be honest with you, a proper clean would take 30-60 mins.  If it has a decent amount of wax on it, another month won't kill.  Wash it down, and check how the water beads.  If it beads well, just leave it until you have time to spend however long you want.

best thing to do is just wash the car down, and dry, then use a quick detailer (like spray optimum car wax) and just do a quick 10 minute wipe over with a microfibre
