TDI driving itself !

Hi, my mk3 AHU TDi seems to be exccelerating by itself,once the cars moving
every now and again i can take my foot of the the gas the car continues to exccelerate :shocked:

TDI's have fly by wire throttle control so there are no accelerater cables to get sticky or jammed. So your problem could be caused by a faulty pedal switch....or does yours have cruise control fitted to the indicator stalk?

Yup.

could be from either piston rings giving up, turbo seals on the way out etc. Either way, if it really decides to let go, it can be very dangerous. Unless you are able to stop, apply handbrake, then dump the clutch whilst it's in it's highest gear. HAS to be done from stationary to ensure the engine stalls otherwise it could use its own inertia to resist stalling.
