Polo GTi 6R Retrofits
« on: 05 June 2018, 13:21 »
Afternoon all, I'd like to start by saying hello to you all. I am not new to this forum, I just couldnt get back into my old account. It has been a very long time since I have posted (last post being when i owned a jetta tfsi). My VW history consists of the following in order; 60" 6R Polo GTi, 04" MK5 GT TDi, 57" Jetta TFSi, 99" MK4 1.8t agu, 04" MK4 pd130

Anyways, going against logic (my last 6R GTi had the infamous 1.4 tsi issues and needed a new engine at 31k) and am picking up another 6R GTi tomorrow. It is a poverty spec car that I hope to retrofit most things to. I was also looking at the mk5 gti but need something a tad more frugal as it will be a daily driver used for circa 50 miles+ in town.

My original 6R GTi was running Revo stage 1 with more plans ahead however cylinder 3 let go and I refused to do any further modifications after the engine was replaced. My plan this time around is to go stage 2 onwards with the help of lucifers guide on the briskoda forums.

I'd like to ask if there is anyone in the Cambridgeshire area that may be able to help with retrofitting, mainly with vagcom coding? Also, aside from main dealer, what specialists do people recommend? I plan on rebuilding the engine with the updated CTHE internals as a form of preventive maintenance.

Many thanks, and look forward to starting a build thread soon.
