Why?
On the mk 7 We have 2 positions to adjust the luggage compartment floor.
I have the Dynaudio fitted and the luggage floor has always been in the "higher" of the 2 levels since I have owned the car.
Is this too much choice, what am I missing with the need for a higher or lower level floor?
Cheers.

High position gives you a flush floor level for easy loading plus a space underneath for sh1t (I keep umbrella, waterproofs etc in there in case of breakdown).
Lower level gives you quite a bit of extra boot space (you'd be surprised), useful for when you have the car fully loaded for holidays and your wife has to take every bloody thing she owns with you.

The extra depth is sometimes quite useful to be honest. I've been grateful for it when I've hired a rug doctor (although it fits at the higher level, it rattles about and occasionally taps the rear window).
That said, I've crammed loads of other stuff around the spare wheel (proper wheel brace, compressor, etc.) so it stays in the higher position now anyway. If i ever need the extra depth, 2 minute job to remove the other stuff.

if the lower lvl wasn't there i'd not been able to own the 7.5 as the wheelchair wouldn't fit in the boot. so i'm glad it's an option for sure :) i've spoken to a few ladies who have the car and they prefer the flat lvl option as it's easier to get stuff in and out :) so deffo thumbs up here.

Is it a feature on the GTD estate?

It was on the Mk7 but not sure about the 7.5

Heard a rumor the parcel shelf was meant to fit underneath the floor is this correct??

It's supposed to fit under but I've never tried it

Yes, in both the hatch and the estate.

I must say when I hired the Rug Doctor I was very impressed with the finish, fell in love with my wife again.

The extra space is really useful. When we hired a MK7 on holiday when they first came out we weren't impressed by the boot (smaller than our old mk5 boot) but didn't know you could lower the floor. Without it we couldn't fit our two suitcases in the boot - which easily fitted the Mk5 boot.
The GTe and R don't have the option to lower the floor because of battery/crazy 4wd stuff.

Actually Lol'd at that myself

I moved the luggage floor to the lower level today.
It feels much more keyed in at the rear with improved balance through sweeping turns, I think this is most likely down to the lower centre of gravity compared to the "elevated" floor position. :)

The sixteen bags of sand you are carrying are lower :D

In uk spare tire come in full size?
Besides extra space, in Argentina 2 levels are because some models comes with full size spare tire. And gti comes with temporary tire.
Those like me who want a full size wheel we need this part.

Also, oem trunk plastic mat only fit in upper position.

I've been missing out on that extra bit of cornering prowess. What will I do!!

For the ultimate in balance you should try the modified lightweight boot floor made from polystyrene and angel breath.

Have you got a pic of the polystyrene boot liner and part number please?
