Hi guys im nav from Nottingham bought a 2003 vw golf gt tdi pd130 have owned it for a week or so now, surprisingly travelling on the motorway all of a sudden the turbo switches off which knocked down speed and engine management light switched on I had a laptop and the obd connection so I decided to connect it and came up with this code: P1557 Charge pressure control positive deviation any clue? I been to one garage and hes saying something about the turbo vains are sticking I got no clue what so ever please help?
Wonder whos got more bhp cars or women?

It means you either need to clean or replace your turbo

The vanes in the turbo get clogged with carbon deposits to the point where they dont move and when you plant your foot you hit limp mode because the vanes cannot operate properly

Depending on mileage and condition it may be more cost effective to replace

yeah that's exactly what a vw specialist said thanks rhyso I think im going for the upgrade to an hybrid turbo  :grin:

Don forget the following then
Turbo back exhaust
Front mounted intercooler and new pipework
New clutch

And if you want to take it past 215-220bhp wihtout smoke and maxing out the injectors then you'll need new injectors too.....
