I had a VW and a Citreon petrol cars stand in full sun with a high of 62C for several days and sold both several years later.
All modern cars have fuel breathers installed, even those from France.

I personally don't think there is any truth/risk in this. Expansion with heat is a thing for sure but I'd be confident to fill it up myself. Luckily I drive diesel mostly and that is only flammable under fairly extreme pressure so I'm safe for now I think.
