The fuel tank has space built in for thermal expansion.
On older cars (like the mk3 Golf) there was a nipple in the fuel filler neck. If you pushed it you could fill that expansion area too (up to 10 litres after auto shut off), if you did that in the morning with very cold fuel and then left it in the sun at 40 degrees then maybe you'd get an issue.
Just filling it until the pistol shuts off and then putting another litre or two in you'll be absolutely fine.

Also don't forget; a UK heatwave barely makes spring in the rest of the world

First time I have attempted to upload a photo, so forgive me if this does not work.

I was taking a huge risk driving my internal combustion engine contraption yesterday!

Yeah they look strange after 'Active Info'. I'm sure you'd get used to them again after a few weeks

Once years ago I filled up me BMW R1150GS to the brim first thing in the morning and rode home about half a mile. Left the bike in full sun for half an hour and when I went out the 22L tank was creaking loud. Opening the cap slowly to release the pressure it spewed petrol out all over the bike and much more than I expected. Good job it had cooled down a bit.

When in Africa filling up you can request a ramp to tilt the vehicle to get every last drop into the tank - only the neck of the filler would have air...
That said, I wouldn't try driving the Sahara in my Golf as it stands - Probably make the first 10 foot OK though..
