Whats all this crap about heating it up with a heat gun anyone done this to there bumpers yet???? Iv used shoe polish since i was 16 cleaning my parents cars and it does work a treat, but a heat gun iv never used on it!!!!! Anyone care to explain :laugh:

Perhaps it hardens the polish, making it even more durable?

Dunno about trying it though....on plastic bumpers!

i cant believe i still havent given this a try. car is due a clean, last one was march so will do it before inters  :grin:

if you look at ur bumpers theres small grain pattern i think heating this will ruin its pattern. stick with the kiwi its pure OWNAGE for the price and hassle!

the hot air gun trick really works but you have to be a bit careful, a hairdrier is safer but takes longer. it sort of melts the plastic slightly and the polymers in the plastic rejuvinate. well worth a go, i'm about to do my passat as that has more plastic than you'd belive! i'll do before and afters of the hot air gun method. word.

Right - Mk3 is getting a good clean this weekend.  I've used the autoglym stuff before on bumpers, but you guys have converted me to shoe polish.

My bumpers are pretty hellish, so i'll post pics hopefully after i've done it.

Has anybody tried autoglym on there shoes ???? :laugh:.

My old man swears by it :wink:, said the finish lasts much
longer than it used to with Kiwi polish.
