hi guys,
My 1.9 has started using a decent amount of oil, it never used to use any oil before, now, I find myself topping up every few thousand miles, before it wouldn't use a single drop, I did 5-10k oil changes.
I suspect turbo is slowly on it's way out, maybe oil is getting past the turbo seals, I did check the intercooler and the pipes have around 2-3 teaspoons of oil in them.
My question is, I've seen an oil additive, which apparently refreshes seals and gaskets, will this help my turbo seals? maybe? or are all additives a load of marketing crap and stay away?

Had an MR2 which was quite thirsty on oil and used thishttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Wynns-50864-Stop-Smoke/dp/B000297UFM/ref=sr_1_19?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1405711875&sr=1-19&keywords=oil+additive and bingo! Had a service and the oil was all but gone in 4000 miles. Noticed the oil light coming on when cornering. Added this and 8000 miles later oil was ok.

sounds good, but I've read that it is thick, I don't want it clogging something that shouldn't be clogged...
I might get a seal replenisher oil treatment, because it's very thin and the cars due an oil change anyway

Son in law used that seal replenisher on a Renault Clio 55 plate which was pushing out blue smoke, thought it was a PCV valve turned out to be the turbo.

my car doesn't make any smoke, recently had a boost pipe repaired, it now makes slightly more beige smoke on full throttle, when a cars headlights are shining behind you. odd but nothing major I'd say, I think at 150k and 25k of being stage 1 my turbo is on it's way out, might just sell the car before then tbh
