"On the Car" Wheel Balancing !!
« on: 11 February 2005, 21:37 »
Just wonderong if there is any NE members on here who can recommend a decent place that does "on the Car" Wheel Balancing, I've just had my nice Strosek Alloys re-furbed but can't seem to get them balanced correctly from 2 different places, it's def. the wheels as the original Pirelli's "P" slots on the car run true and wobble free but as soon as the Strosek's are on the car and I hit 65 mph the wobble starts and by 70 mph it's pretty bad.
Anyone know of such a place.

Thanks in advance.

Jim.?

This sounds like another problem than the wheels.

are the centre bores the same size on the strosek alloys? this could make the difference if they are a sloppy fit and are just relying on the bolts to centre them. you can buy spigt rings to adjust the size to fit i think.

Thanks for your replies,

Blue, it's almost certainly the wheels as the car drives perfect when the original 14" Pirelli's are on, Joe might have a good point here as there are no spigot rings on the wheels and only the bolts are centering them up, I'll look into this side of things and hope this cures it.

Thanks Jim.?

get spigot rings if the wheels arent centralised on the hubs
