Whilst not as exciting as what some of you have been up to, but I fit my 'luxury' car mata after a much needed clean.

If anyone cares this is what they look like

I think they go well with the GTD colour scheme.

Marnie good idea with the hole cut out for the jack to go in.
I used the puck method before but it was sitting on top of what I thought was chunky wood. Anyway the wood cracked and unbeknown to me as I was jacking up the car the cracked wood was wedging up the sill at the same time.
£600 repair for carelessness
I promised myself I would get a large headed jack so the puck could sit inside so no need for wood.

If they are anything like the ones fitted to either the  mk4, mk5 or mk6 they always pop off the bottom when the suspension leg is at full travel. When on a wheels free lift or jacked up. Easiest way is to just lower the car slowly then once the leg starts to compress push the gator back over the bottom. It sort of slides over the bottom bit. They always seem to make them just that tiny bit short so when they stretch they pull off the bottom. If not they can pull off the top which is not so easy to refit.

The gaitors aren't meant to just pop off though. Every time they come loose I'll be back to the dealer. They'll get sick first
