Not sure how to describe it better, so let's try and explain... if you wrap from the bottom upwards the 'open' side of the tape will be at the back of the car.  If you wrap 'top down' then you'll have the open side at the front of the car - so it'll catch and tear much easier if you have an off (going forwards) or if it's low enough to scrape when you're driving.

Capiche?
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Ok so a little update

All i can say is I hate way wrap! Feel like I've been rolling on anthill!
I managed to get the exhaust all wrapped. Used 20m if wrap I bought a ran out so used some thermal ladder tape to wrap the box.

Also whipped the dogbone off cleaned it up and changed both the bushes

Disassembled

The old rubber bushes had started falling apart and bits were stuck everywhere!

So cleaned everything up

And installed the new bush

Then got around to doing the other bush
Old one out.....

New one in

That's all I got round to doing as the missus decided I wasn't spending enough time with her so dragged me out shopping

Anyway tomorrow I should be dropping the old subframe and doing the front suspension etc

I also need I look at a way of turning off the tracking control when I put my me7.5 Ecu on as the arz doesn't have a button for it!

just got the quick rack in position ready to bolt up and then will be bolting all my new stuff up.

Few pics...

Car bits everywhere!

About to drop the steering rack

New subframe and wishbones

Hubs and subframe in the background, ready to switch over the racks

Just finished my dinner so time to get back out and finish bolting everythin back together

Ok end of day update

Cupra r rack held up in position and bolt in

034 Solid subframe bushes ready to install

Bushes and 25mm h&r arb installed

Then it came to bolting the subframe in position, jacked it up and started all the bolts, i then found that the steering rack would go in position as the arb was in the way so abit of messing detaching the arb then bolt the rack in place then again bolting the arb in place
i then bolted the subframe up pulling it forward as much as possible to give as much caster as possible.

Then installed the new febi bearings and powerflex top mounts to the weitecs

Hubs and coilovers installed with new febi ball joints

S3 drop links and tie rod ends attached

Also decided to install the eibach rear anti roll bar

Then attached the downpipe

And the newly polybushed dogbone mount

I then attached the backbox but am having to wait to install the rest of the system as i am awaiting the arrival of some more exhaust clamps!

And finally i installed the temporary 312mm brake setup i had in the shed until i can order some cupra r brembos

That's it for today and back at work till mid next week so glad i managed to get quite a bit done
Just need to finish installing the exhaust and bleed the brakes and then i can wack the wheels on and drop her on the ground and then tighten a few bolts (hubnuts, top mounts) and then when my ecus come back from r-tech install the mapped ecu and get her started so i can bleed the power steering.

got a few more bits coming i have ordered but i think the next job may be relocating the battery but we will see what happens

Just caught up on this, not checked in for a few weeks. Great progress :afro:

Cage is looking great and the engine is going to be a monster when complete, you decided on a turbo yet?

I'll have to swing down and say hello sometime!

I wouldn't say I'm part of the crew, been down to a few meets and going to their show. They're a good bunch of guys with some serious motors! Sounds like a waste of a G60 to me

G60's should be driven hard

A mate of mine runs Only Charged Dubs and he specialises in G40/G60s, he's got a heavily modded G60 which has been off the road for about a year now, when it was on the road he would leave me for dead in mine.
