^^^ Reminds of a job not on my list that I still want to do.  I want/need to move my battery to the back.  Was tempted to go down to a scrappy and take all the shizzle from an old Beemer as it could work out cheaper but think I'd prefer new copper as it's not that expensive.

Will check tem tomorrow!

May try the torch next and compare but the only problem is with the torch I can run out of gas where as the gun is plugged in haha

I have got plans for lights wheels and lcr brakes (not too big so light yet good stopping power).

Wheels wise I'm not I sure what to look for apart form team dynamics and rota force but will probably buy whatever is cheap.
But also need to think about offsets as I'm currently running 20mm spacers note back of my daily
Thinking about welding/bolting a spacer onto the rear beam rather then using wheel spacers.

So tempted to go silly and widen the arches and lengthen the rear beam

There's a big list

Reference the wheel Team dynamics pro race are an excellent choice and really light even in 18" for a track car however 16"s would be the better choice.

No need for spacers if you use the right offset, et35 will be fine.

Try and put stupid ideas like this to the back of your mind and just get the basics right to start with.

Get it stripped down a bit and re-bush the whole thing, then get the alignment done.  Get some good quality discs and pads on and change the fluid out for fresh stuff.

The drive the tits off it and decide what it wants/needs next up.

If it was me I'd run the smallest wheels possible, as they'll be relatively light and tyres will probably be cheaper.

Making a big list to start with is an ar$e about face way of going into this.  Test, evaluate and revise to find direction.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Yeah I see where you coming from cheers for the slap in the face

There is a big list but not to all be completed straight away, a lot of it is performance upgrade for the engine which can wait for now I jut want to change all the wishbones, bushes, brakes etc before I start using the car so I know it is all in good condition and then work on the engine and suspension, geometry tweaks from there.

I think I'm going to go for 17" wheels due to weight etc

Ok so Tuesday put some lowering springs on my brothers subaru legacy.
10x easier then the golf! Front had two bolts at the bottom and 3 13mm bolts at the top and just slipped out! Te backs were about worse tho as the 19mm but and bolt on the bottom just did not want to come off! Ended us using the nut splitter 4 times on one of the bits and then chiseling away the faces and usin the grinder to cut the collor!

Eventually started turning but is one of the worst nuts have come across....not nice when its -2!

Wednesday changed my rear caliper on the daily as it had seized from a broken dust shield! Came along my road in te slush with the rear wheel locked all the way!

Drive to work this morning and the brakes were really soft so had to be careful, got home and rebled the f n/s and r o/s calipers but the feel still isn't very good!
So gonna have a better look on the weekend!

Also won some Cupra e wishbones on the bay!

Ok for £36 :D
And also bought some black enamel paint to tidy up them and the subframe I cleaned up.
Don't k is if its any good but we will see!

And last but not least managed I sell the front and back seats out of the track car so there is finally about of space in the car for me to work!

Ok so I planned on getting somework done yesterday but my brother asked if I wanted to go out on a ride and I couldn't resist

Haha removed about 15kg of sand when I washed it haha

Anyway had a bit of time on the golf today not done much just a little few time consuming things like the sound deadening.
Managed to finish removing it all from the footwells

I also removed the seat belts and rear speakers which has helped shed quite a bit of weight!

Can't get to the sound deadening in the back due to the carpet and panels in there

So I stated my design of the centre frame that the shift is going to stand on!
I bent some welding wire to the desired shape And got this..

The plan is to make it out of some 10mm tube and use thin plate in the gaps
