HEHE i find this hilarious because just likes teens they scwobble about insurance premiums except its not £250-£500 its £2500-£3000  :sad:

I own a MK3 Golf 1.4, i pay just over £2000 a year for my insurance and thats through my mum and dad, and its only 3rd party, Fire and theft!!!

Although im only 18yrs. BUT on all levels, a real pain in the ass!!  :angry:

I just got 2 quotes from HIC and they are epic. Not ideal situation to be in myself atm but here's the lowdown:

My 1.8 MK3 GL with all mods declared on my own policy by myself = £980

If I have the above, but whack a 1.8T engine in there = £1600

If I have 1 years NCB the above = £1000.

That in my opinion is a bargain.

What might be £470 for you might be half the price for someone else. Insurance is done on a person by person basis so its a bit harsh on HIC to say they "rip people off" just because they turned out to be expensive for you.

I know for a fact that a lot of people have had a lot of joy from HIC.

Note that Footman James are VERY specific when it comes to insurance people which is probs why they are cheaper. It insure with them under their classic car policy you must:

# The vehicle is over 15 years of age
# The vehicle must be garaged at night
# The vehicle is being used for social domestic and pleasure (including commuting) only
# The vehicle has not been modified from the manufacturer's standard specification
# The vehicle is not a grey or parallel import including US imports
# The vehicle is not valued at more than £50,000
# The vehicle is not a van, pickup, Motor Home or any other commercial vehicle
# All drivers hold a Full UK or EU driving licence and have done so for a minimum of 5 years
# No drivers have made any claims or had any accidents in the past 3 years
# All drivers must be aged between 25 and 74
# No driver has more than one fixed penalty speeding conviction
# UK post codes only (excluding Northern Ireland)
# The vehicle is owned and registered to yourself
# No driver is employed in any of the following occupations:

    * Entertainment, Radio or TV presenter
    * Celebrity
    * General Dealers
    * Courier or Delivery drivers
    * Debt collectors
    * Money lender
    * Professional Sports persons
    * Unemployed persons
And this is fair is it think i'l try HIC

HIC were the cheapest for me on my mk2 20v, im 25 with 1 years no claims, insured wheels/paint/ice ect ect for £750 fully comp.(expensive to some but this car is mental)
however on my bog standard mk2 8v, they were not the cheapest but the service is great, plus ii like to speak to people and not a computer or jonny foreigner.
I would recommend them to anyone.
and no im not an employee,nor do i know anyone that works there.
thanks HIC
