8v gti,,,,original gear box went, brought new car with spare gear box in the boot,,, as always not the bargin i thought it would,, got 40min up the road and the drive went,, turns out the final drive bearing went,,,,got towed to local garage to have the box in boot fittied,,, turns out to be a diesel box,,had it fitted anyway as was costing me time and money with no car,,,now its all fitted, car changes gear with clutch not pressed,, when u press the clutch it squeals and grates.. dont know what to do for the best,, anyone got any advive or had similar problems,,, also whit the original box is in the boot is it worth me stripping down and having a look to repair...thanks
