Hi there, new to the forums so bear with me, just sold a worn out mk2 gti and bought a mk4 gti t, seems a good car  :undecided:  but I have a few little problems, firstly there is a constant tap tap noise from the heater motor, its got digi climatronic & briefly stops when you press the recirc button then starts up again at a slightly different tone, even sounds when the engine & cliamte control is switched off ? I presume a replacement heater motor would sort it, if so any one ever removed / replaced one ? any ideas ? HELP !!!

Secondly I have noticed over the last few rainy days a slight drip of water below the glove box that deposits on the mat in the footwell, you can actually see a drop forming on the plastic panel below glove box, have checked its not coolant, as no sweet taste. I have removed pollen filter & housing below, didnt see any issues there so replaced it & ran a bead of mastic around the edge, but low & behold it still seems a little wet again today ? HELP

The previous owner installed a carbon fibre effect air box cylindrical type with a stainless steel pipe that discharges down by the chassy leg, so when you back off the turbo makes a twitter sound ? I always prefer to run cars standard and I am worried that an aftermarket device like this could damage the turbo or cause bad running, has any one any experience ?

Cheers for any feedback...............blown

sounds like your heater matrix could be on the way out - its located behind the glovebox
