I have just fitted a Toad alarm/immobilizer to my cabrio. It originally came out of a mk2 so I may be able to help you. Has your car already got central locking? If so, you shouldn't need an extra motor.

I think you can pick up the motors for around ?15.  I think volksbits do them.  It is just a motor which fit into the door and you just wire them to your alarm

Yeah, but how do I connect it to the alarm? Is there an obvious wire sticking out called alarm wire??

Got your email..........I gather you have the vaccuum central locking system. My cabrio has electric motors in each door so its a little different,  however the Mk2 that I pulled the Toad alarm out of had the vaccuum system. What they did there is just put a motor in the drivers door to pull down the lock. When the lock is pulled down by the motor it will activate the vaccuum system and pull the rest of the locks.......does that make sense?
I still have the drivers door motor connected to the vaccuum system so I could take a photo of it for you so that you can see how it works.

What remote system have you got? Working out the wiring for that could be tricky.

I have taken a couple of pics so that you can see how the motor physically connects to the Central locking switch. I'll post them for you later. I have also worked out which of the 2 wires you need to use out of the 5 on the motor..........assuming its the same as mine.  :-/
I'll post more details later.........bit busy at the moment.

Not sure that this is going to help you that much but you never know.
I took the motor and central locking switch out together and haven't touched them since doing that. This is how they look:-

These are the wires that are coming out of the motor. The only ones that the remote locking used were the blue and green wires. The white, brown and black wires were simply blanked off.

Good luck.

Which wires aer free in the door to connect to my actuator???
Damn confusing! :-[

I didn't think it would help much..........what I do know is that it ties in with your original system, so no don't remove any microswitches etc.
The wires that connect to your actuator/motor should come from your remote kit :-/
