Cool, thanks gasketface, I've no idea how strong the gearboxes are as standard so wondered what their reputation was like. At MOT had an advisory of a slight oil weep at the gearbox, hence my question after the engine work that's been done considering car is low miles.
I've been doing, and had done, a load of work to the car over the past couple of years. Sort of a rolling project. I've got rustproofing and a detail left to do, so once all finished I'll post up pics in the MK3 project cars thread
