Well here she is.

2.0 16v 136,000 miles, FSH, 12 months MOT 1 advisory (Handbrake) 6 months tax, 4 new tyres, loads of recent bits, everything works. £1,100.

I'm completely in love with this car.

Right bit of an update for you all!

1) Friday night it was making an alarming clonking noise from the front while rolling along. Whipped it into my local VW specialists on saturday morning as I was due at a wedding in 3hrs time and didn't want to start taking it to bits. The reason for the clonk was the vibration damper on the drivers side driveshaft had com eoff and was sliding up and down the shaft (ooh eer!) and hitting the wishbone etc. 5 mins, an angle grinder an no charge from the garage and the fault was recitified. Will need to source a replacement driveshaft with a decent damper in the future but it's not urgent. The guy in the garage was well impressed with the car and whenI looked under it while it was on the ramp it's all nice and tidy under there. Lovely Jubbly!

2) It's drinking fuel, 25mpg on a daily run and nudging 30mpg on a long mway run. I also noticed it's running pretty cold on the water front out on the open road. Just off to the local stealers for a Gen Thermostat and seal as I suspect it's stuck open and this is the culprit of both of these problems. Might change it tonight, but more likely I'll sort it Saturday morning.

Total costs so far:

Car - £1,100
Spoiler Motor - £50
Thermostat and Seal - £8

A small update.

Fitted the KR inlet cam on saturday and wooooohaaaaa does it make a difference. Pulls far harder at the top end of the revs and keeps going right up to the redline whereas before it used to fade away at the very top. I also fitted a 16v Plus badge on the back, just because I like although for £14 inlcuding VAT and postage form awesome it should be gold plated!

I've got the week off work to sort the camper out for an MOT this week but couldn't resist a quick fiddle with the Rado this morning and drilled the airbox. It sounds truly awesome now and really I don't think you can get much close than the sound of VR withut having the extra two pots. Just been for a drive and didn't even bother with the stereo, the sound of that 16v at full chat is enough music for my ears.
