Is your problem not as easy as replacing the pull down unit?

Bigger isn't necessarily better (not in the world of carbs at least  ;) ) the carbs that were intended for a 1.6 or 1.8 would have completely different jetting and therefore the mixture would be all wrong for the amount of air a smaller engine demands.

I have two problems the one on my car which is over-choking and yes I just need to replace the choke pull down diaphragm (ordered from GSF for ?7).
The problem on my girlfriends car is a combination of things and most people advise binning the 2E2 when it g ets to that stage.

lol i see!

For me ?200 is a bit much, but then the car is very special to me, so i might... Also, i haven't actualy had to do anything on it for the last two years, so i guess i've done well, for a free car....
