Scorpion Alarm Location

Just bought my mk3 and found that i only have one alarm zapper.

I spoke with VW and they want ?250 (excl VAT) just to remove and replace it so that scorpion can make some more keys.

does anyone know where the alarm is , and whether or not it is worth the effort to remove it yourself.

or any other ideas

If you have a zapper that works, you can get them copied.  I got one from somewhere I found on the internet. (I have lost the link)  It cost ?30 + P&P

I didn't even have to send the old one off.

Try searching in google for 'scorpion alarm key fob replacement' or something similar.
