eg 'pedal box'?

A device that fits between the ECU and the throttle pedal which sharpens the response of the throttle pedal and removes  the laggy initial response.

In manual mode box doesn’t shift up anyway, it just hits limiter.

In which car does that happen? Because in the Clubsport (and I believe in every other GTI) it's limiter and up-shift no matter which mode you're on.

Mk7 GTD MY17

That's super weird. Why would they implement a "change at the limiter" function on performance variants like GTIs and other petrols but leave it hit the limiter and stay in the same gear on a diesel?    You're absolutely sure it doesn't up-shift? Would love to see a video of this.

It does change up even in manual mode, but only after sitting at max revs for a second or so..... I just manually shifted up long before then :D
