Just looking online and it was probably this line that was at the back of my mind:

We do not recommend using C5 Wheel Armour on polished, unlacquered rims in countries that salt roads for ice prevention

Both Gtechniq and Gyeon look good to me, it's just having the time to let it cure in the dry

Yes, but diamond cut wheels are lacquered.
