Once I get my DA and have used it, if I could get even halfway towards a result like that I'll be very very pleased

I think you achieve great as it is results Watts.  A DA just makes it even better.  The first wash after a DA is the easiest ever.  I haven’t had time to get the DA on mine yet pre winter but looking forward to giving it a single stage polish.

Agreed, no matter how clean it looks after snow foam and rinse, its always a hand wash with the lambswool mitt. Or else you'll be rubbing some small particles into your paint for sure and causing swirls.
if your not touching it .. how can you rub small particles into your paint ????

He might mean if you were drying the car off after just no touch washing, without doing a bucket wash, which, if that was the case, would most likely result in pressing/rubbing dirt particles into the paint, causing swirls. Most swirls are inflicted at the drying stage.. But if you aren’t drying it then no issues, apart from potential water spots if hard water and no DI filter.

Washed it.

Winter detail delayed atm due to other commitments but decided to try out Swissvax Shield on bonnet and roof in the meantime, as this is what it will have on as protection over winter months.   Prepped both by with panel wipe/cleaner fluid and applied.  A breeze to apply as with any other Swissvax wax, needs less hazing time though, and buffs off equally easily. Looking forward to seeing how it is before I do the whole car with it, when time permits.
